The Indo-German Science and Technology Centre today organised the Strategic Conclave 2026 on Integrated Water Resource Management in New Delhi. The conclave highlighted the importance of India-Germany cooperation for sustainable water governance and climate resilience.
Addressing the conclave, German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, emphasised the deepening Indo-German partnership in science, sustainability and climate action. He emphasised that water management is a shared global challenge and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to joint research, technology development and knowledge exchange.
Further, conservationist Dr Rajendra Singh stressed that water governance must be people-centric. He underlined the need to revive traditional water bodies, restore rivers and empower local communities, stating that long-term sustainability depends on community participation and behavioural change alongside engineering solutions. The conclave reaffirmed that international collaboration, community engagement and technology-driven solutions will be critical to ensuring long-term water security and sustainable development.
