ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: India defeats Pakistan by 61 runs at Colombo

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a Group A clash at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium last night and becomes second team to qualify for the Super Eight. Chasing the target of 176 runs, Pakistan were all out for 114  in 18 overs. Usman Khan, with 44, was the top scorer for Pakistan. For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Varun Chakaravarthy and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each, while  Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Varma claimed a wicket each. 
 
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl. India scored 175 runs, losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ishan Kishan scored 77 runs while Suryakumar Yadav scored 32. 
 
Three matches are scheduled for today. In the first match, Afghanistan will take on the United Arab Emirates in the Group D clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 11 AM IST.  In a Group C clash, England will face Italy at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 0300 PM, while Australia will play Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in  Pallekele at 0700 PM.
