ICC Champions Trophy: Match between South Africa & Afghanistan is underway in Karachi

In the ICC Champions Trophy Cricket, South Africa has set a target of 316 runs before Afghanistan in a Group B fixture in Karachi. Chasing the target, Afghanistan was 50 for 3 in 14 overs when reports last came in. Earlier, electing to bat first, South Africa scored 315 for 6 in the stipulated 50 overs, riding on a maiden century from opener Ryan Rickelton and half-centuries from three other batters.

 

In an aggressive batting display, Rickleton reeled off 103 off 106 balls. Captain Temba Bavuma made 58, Rassie van der Dussen 52, and Aiden Markram scored 50 not out in front of a crowd strong with Afghan supporters. For Afghanistan, veteran spinner Mohammed Nabi grabbed two wickets while Fazalhaq Farooqi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Noor Ahmad picked up one each.
