The Indian Air Force Band today staged a performance at Central Park in New Delhi to mark the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. The event witnessed a large gathering that responded enthusiastically to the patriotic performances. The band rendered India’s national song, Vande Mataram, composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. It also presented AR Rahman’s popular version and a special Vande Mataram rendition with a Bombay-style 1980s mix. The programme also featured an instrumental performance of the iconic Sholay theme.
