The deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is set to visit Iran today. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said the visit aims to hold talks on future cooperation under a new framework approved by Iran’s parliament in June this year. However, he clarified that no inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities are planned during this trip.
The visit follows Iran’s decision to suspend cooperation with the IAEA after Israeli-U.S. attacks on its nuclear sites and the assassination of its nuclear scientists. Iran says cooperation will only resume if its nuclear sites and scientists are protected.
