A heavy downpour hit Hyderabad last evening, with the northern and western parts of the city bearing the brunt.

Starting as light, scattered showers, the rain intensified and eventually reached the city’s central areas and became a heavy downpour, impacting areas like Serilingampally, Miyapur, Chandanagar, Kukatpally, and RC Puram, as well as parts of Secunderabad, including Uppal, Kapra, Musheerabad, localities near Osmania University, and Malkajgiri. Musheerabad recorded the highest rainfall of 184.5 mms while over 20 areas recorded very heavy rainfall by wee hours today.

The heavy rains left the roads inundated, and motorists struggled to find their way out of the waterlogged stretches. Power disruptions were also reported in several areas.
