Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, inspected and took the salute at the passing out parade of the Haryana Police at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula today. Director General of the Haryana Police Academy, Ashinder Singh Chawla, administered the oath to 5061 newly recruited police personnel.
Congratulating the newly recruited personnel, the Minister said that protecting the State population is now their responsibility. Hailing the participation of women in security forces, he said that today the first line of defence is in the hands of the daughters of the country, which is a very auspicious change.
Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the eve of his 101st birth anniversary, Mr Shah said that he was a resolute and unwavering personality. He noted that India became a nuclear power during his tenure. Later, Mr Amit Shah also unveiled a statue of the late leader at Atal Park in Panchkula.
