Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate Extradition of Fugitives-Challenges and Strategies’ conference in New Delhi tomorrow. The two-day conference is being organized by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

 

 

During the conference, senior police officers from various Central and State Police agencies will participate to discuss the issues of International Police Cooperation and devise strategies to locate and bring back fugitives to face criminal justice in India.

 

 

In a statement, the Home Ministry said that an array of issues will be deliberated during the conference, including effective use of formal and informal channels available for seeking cooperation from foreign countries, leveraging technology to track down fugitive criminals, and developing strategic approaches to extradition. The conference will also have participation from the Ministry of External Affairs.
