HM Amit Shah says North East is witnessing unprecedented development under leadership of PM Modi

Home Minister Amit Shah today said that Assam and other northeastern states have seen unprecedented development over the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, as he inaugurated multiple projects during a daylong visit to the state.

Speaking at a public rally in Nagaon district after inaugurating the redeveloped Mahpurush Srimanta Sankardeva Abirbhav Kshetra at Batadrawa Than, Shah said, the government had succeeded in establishing peace and accelerating development in Assam and the wider Northeast.

He criticised the Congress party, blaming it for past failures in the state’s development. Later, Shah inaugurated a new building of the Guwahati Police Commissioner’s office and an Integrated City Surveillance System aimed at strengthening urban security. He also opened the Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Complex, a 5,000-seat auditorium in Guwahati.

Before leaving for West Bengal, Shah paid homage to martyrs of the Assam movement at the newly constructed Swahid Smarak Kshetra in Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita and other officials attended the events.
