Union Home Minister Amit Shah has extended greetings to the Matua community on the occasion of Matua Dharma Mela, marking the 215th birth anniversary of Harichand Thakur. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that Harichand Thakur delved into the profundity of the nation’s wisdom and brought forth the pearls of devotion, equality and moral living, which today serve as guiding principles. He expressed hope that Matua Dharma Mela 2026, being held in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal, will strengthen the commitment to these principles.
