For the one Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh, Congress candidate Anurag Sharma has been elected unopposed. The Certificate of Election has been handed over to him by the Assembly Secretariat.

 

For the Rajya Sabha election, Anurag Sharma had filed his nomination on behalf of the Congress, while no nomination was filed by the BJP. Today was the last date for withdrawal of nominations, and since there was only one candidate in the fray, Anurag Sharma has been elected unopposed as a Member of Parliament.

 

After the tenure of the current Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami ends, Anurag Sharma will take oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
