West Central Railway has constituted a higher administrative grade level inquiry committee to investigate the fire incident in Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express today.
The fire incident occurred in one passenger coach and one luggage brake and a generator car of the train between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations. Indian Railways said that as per the provisions of the accident manual, the committee has been directed to complete the inquiry within the stipulated time frame. It added that the committee will conduct a detailed examination of the causes of the incident, technical aspects and safety parameters so as to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
