The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the Monsoon is likely to be in an active phase with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy falls at isolated places over south peninsular India, Konkan and Goa from the 12th to the 16th of this month.

The Weather department has also forecast heat Wave to severe heat wave conditions over Northwest India, including Western Himalayan Region during the next 2 days. Places over Marathawada, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds during the next 2-3 days.
