In Telangana, heavy rains lashed several parts of the state, as the incessant rains continue to batter some areas since last evening. Parts of Kamareddy and Medak districts have received extremely heavy rain since morning. Argonda in Kamareddy received the highest rainfall of 41.8 cms since morning. Kamareddy town, Biknoor and Rajampet received extremely heavy rainfall of over 23.5 cms. Nagapur of Medak district received over 22 cms of rainfall since morning. Meanwhile, the State Disaster Relief Teams have rescued about 20 persons who were stuck in floodwater at different places.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed district officials of Kamareddy and Medak to take NDRF assistance in case of any need and asked officials of all concerned departments to remain alert. He also asked the authorities to evacuate all dilapidated buildings and shift people to safe places.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Met officials warned of heavy to very heavy rain at some places in about a dozen districts during the next 48 hours and issued an orange alert.
