Heavy rainfall in the north-western parts of Jharkhand has brought life to a standstill. Several rivers are flowing above the danger mark, while rainwater has entered many houses in the low-lying areas of Palamu and Garhwa districts. Schools till class 12 have been closed for today in Palamu, Latehar and Garhwa districts ahead of the orange alert issued by the Met Department. Continuous rainfall in Chatra, Hazaribagh, Koderma and Deoghar districts has also brought daily life to a standstill.
