Health Minister JP Nadda opens AI-Enabled E-ICU Centre

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today inaugurated the AI-Enabled E-ICU Command Centre at Yashoda Medicity in Ghaziabad. The initiative is expected to strengthen critical care services at the district hospital level by enhancing clinical coordination, standardising treatment protocols, and supporting on-ground medical teams through structured guidance. Addressing the gathering, Mr Nadda said that AI-enabled healthcare ensures timely intervention, precision in diagnosis, and real-time monitoring, which are critical in emergency and intensive care settings. He highlighted that more than 1.81 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been operationalised across the country, with over 50 thousand centres already certified under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS). Mr Nadda further added that the Government has set a target to ensure that all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs achieve NQAS certification within the next two years. He also mentioned the launch of the SAHI Portal and the BODH Initiative during the India AI Impact Summit, aimed at promoting ethical and validated use of AI in Healthcare.
