Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a hike in sugercane rates by 15 rupees per quintal. The rate for early sugarcane varieties has been increased from 400 rupees to 415 rupees per quintal. The rate for late varieties has been increased from 393 rupees to 408 rupees per quintal. Mr Saini said his government is committed to the welfare and holistic development of farmers, the underprivileged, youth, and women. He said, today, all crops in Haryana are procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Over the last 11 crop seasons, an amount of 1 lakh 54 thpousand crore rupees has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of 12 lakh farmers.
