Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has urged scientists to take their innovations beyond the confines of laboratories and ensure their benefits reach the last person in society. The Chief Minister was addressing the second-day session of the 11th India International Science Festival (IISF) in Panchkula toda. He said that science truly brings ‘prosperity’ only when the knowledge of scientists increases a farmer’s crop yield, when research cures a patient’s illness, and when innovation empowers an entrepreneur.
Mr. Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the Students Science and Technology Village at the event. This village has been described as the ‘New Nalanda’ of modern India. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also visited the science exhibition and showed keen interest in the latest technologies in the field of science and innovation. Interacting with the youth, students, and scientists, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini said that science is not just a career, but a means of nation-building. He said that they are the generation that will make India a developed nation. He urged all scientists, research institutions, industries, and start-ups to work together to create a science-based development model that provides a quality life to every citizen, gives India global leadership, and ensures a sustainable future on this planet by protecting the environment.
More than 40,000 participants from India and abroad are participating in this four-day ‘Science Mahakumbh’ (grand science festival).
