In a major Cabinet reshuffle in Gujarat, Majura MLA Harsh Sanghavi, who was the Minister of state for Homes in the earlier council, took oath as the deputy CM in the Bhupendra Patel led government today. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat also administered the oath of office and secrecy to 20 Ministers in a ceremony held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The newly inducted ministers include 5 Cabinet-rank ministers, 3 Ministers of State with independent charge, and 12 Ministers of State.
Earlier, Ministers, including Cabinet Ministers Kanubhai Desai, Rushikesh Patel, and Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, as well as Minister of State Parshottam Solanki, have been retained in the current council. Consequently, the number ministers, including the Chief Minister, has increased to 26 in the new council. It includes 3 women ministers.
