The New Delhi’s part of Khelo India Youth Games concluded today with the finals of Gymnastics held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. This year, New Delhi hosted the Shooting, Cycling, and Gymnastics events, while the remaining competitions took place in Bihar. On the final day of the gymnastics events, Harschit D from Uttar Pradesh and Telangana’s Nishika Aggarwal stood out as top performers.
In the Men’s Vaulting Table Final, Harschit D from Maharashtra won the gold medal. Akshat Bajaj from Delhi claimed the silver, and his state-mate Reyan Rawat took home the bronze. After securing gold in the all-around final yesterday, Harschit went on to win another gold in the Men’s Floor Exercise, making it a double gold victory for him.
Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News, Gymnastics Competition Director Gurdyal Singh Bawa said that Khelo India is a flagship program that identifies and supports young athletes in achieving their dreams.
In the Women’s Vaulting Table Final, Nishika Aggarwal from Telangana won the gold medal. Anoushka Patil from Maharashtra took the silver, while her teammate Sara Rawool earned the bronze. Nishika also won two bronze medals in the Women’s Uneven Bars and Balancing Beam events.
In the Women’s Uneven Bars Final, Anoushka Patil claimed the gold, Sneha Taryal from Delhi took silver, and Nishika Aggarwal got bronze.
