Gujarat will host a grand National Padyatra to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi today said that the 11-day walk will commence from 26th of this month and conclude on 5th of next month.
The historic march will begin at Sardar Patel’s birthplace, Karamsad, and culminate at the Statue of Unity, Kevadia. Mr. Sanghvi said that the main objective of the padyatra is to convey Sardar Patel’s ideas, strengthening the message of national unity and integrity. The march is expected to see large participation, with approximately 10 to 15 thousand people joining each day, including youth from various states and districts.
A special program titled Sardar Gatha will be organized daily along the route to highlight different inspiring aspects of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s life.
