Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, flagged off the National Padyatra of the Sardar@150 Unity March from Vallabh Vidyanagar in Anand, Gujarat today . The march, which began at Sardar Patel’s family home in Karamsad, will cover nearly 190 km in 11 days, and will conclude at the Statue of Unity on December 6th. Addressing the inaugural event, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel stated that the Yatra will not only spread the message of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat but will also serve as a pathway for national unity. He highlighted Sardar Patel’s fight for labour rights, calling the recently launched labour code by PM Modi a true homage to the Iron Man. PM Modi also paid tributes to Sardar Patel through a written message, appealing for national unity.
The Yatra, which is entirely Swadeshi, will feature 150 thematic stops with exhibitions and community engagements. It will also include ten major Sardar Sabhas covering themes like cooperatives, the Bardoli Satyagraha, and the integration of princely states. Dignitaries, including Union Ministers and Chief Ministers, will lead the padyatra each day, with participants walking 15 to 18 km daily while experiencing unity-themed art and showcasing key government schemes. During the ceremony, the dignitaries also administered the Swadeshi Oath to the people, urging them to use made-in-India products for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The inauguration ceremony also marked the launch of the Sardar Patel National Song.
