The Gujarat State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, today directed an immediate seven-day survey to assess crop damage caused by unseasonal rains in the state. State Government Spokesperson and Minister Jitubhai Vaghani informed the media that the survey will cover 239 talukas across 33 districts affected by heavy rainfall between October 23rd and 28th. He added that Preliminary estimates indicate damage to over 10 lakh hectares of agricultural land.
