“The exhibition showcases invaluable archival collections, including letters by Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The initiative aims to promote awareness and appreciation of India’s rich historical legacy among citizens, especially the younger generation. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Joint Director, Prime Ministers Museum and Library, Ravi K Mishra said that this exhibition aims to showcase the visitors about how the archives at the institution came up and the process of acquisition of these papers.
Meanwhile, visitors have expressed keen interest in the exhibition. Talking to Akashvani News, a university student said that viewing original documents helped her connect more deeply with history.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until 14 April from 10 AM to 5 PM. Visitors can explore rare manuscripts, personal correspondences, and historical records preserved at PMML. With Nitika Gupta, Akashvani News, Delhi.

The university of Madras has received upto nine applications from different trusts to start new colleges for the next academic year. Last year the University received five applications to start new arts and science colleges. After the Government issued orders on starting new colleges, the University would give its approval for affiliation. In the first year, the College can start any of the five courses with required faculty members and other infrastructure facilities.

Karnataka has introduced a lifetime tax on all electric four-wheelers, ending earlier exemptions, to raise an additional ₹250 crore after missing last year’s target by ₹1,000 crore. The new tax rates are set at 5% for vehicles costing up to ₹10 lakh and 8% for those priced between ₹10-25 lakh; previously, only EVs above ₹25 lakh attracted a 10% lifetime tax.
The amendment, passed on March 26, 2026, also introduces graded tax rates for already registered vehicles based on age, offers partial refunds on deregistration, and reduces taxes for certain private transport vehicles such as luxury and sleeper buses. The Bill is yet to receive the Governor’s assent.

‘पुष्प की अभिलाषा’ कविता से भारतीय जन-मन में हमेशा के लिए बस गए माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी को ‘एक भारतीय आत्मा’ के नाम से भी याद किया जाता है जिन्होंने देशप्रेम की अपनी कविताओं के माध्यम से न केवल अपने समय में बल्कि बाद की पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी में भी राष्ट्रप्रेमी भावनाओं का संचार किया।
‘हिमकिरीटिनी’, ‘हिमतरंगिनी’, ‘युग चरण’, ‘समर्पण’, ‘मरण ज्वार’, ‘माता’, ‘वेणु लो गूँजे धरा’, ‘बीजुरी काजल आँज रही’ आदि इनकी प्रसिद्ध काव्य-कृतियाँ हैं। ‘कृष्णार्जुन युद्ध’, ‘साहित्य के देवता’, ‘समय के पाँव’, ‘अमीर इरादे :ग़रीब इरादे’ आदि उनकी प्रसिद्ध गद्यात्मक कृतियाँ हैं। ‘माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी रचनावली’ में उनकी रचनात्मक कृतियों का संकलन किया गया है।

Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi also called Pandit ji, was an Indian poet, writer, essayist, playwright and who is particularly remembered for his participation in India’s national struggle for independence and his contribution to Chhayavaad, the Neo-romanticism movement of Hindi literature. He was awarded the first Sahitya Akademi Award in Hindi for his work Him Tarangini in 1955. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan in 1963. For his works reinforcing Indian nationalism during the British Raj, he is referred to as the Yug Charan.

सच्चिदानंद हीरानंद वात्स्यायन ‘अज्ञेय’ का जन्म 7 मार्च 1911 को उत्तर प्रदेश के कसया (आधुनिक कुशीनगर) में हुआ। उनकी आरंभिक शिक्षा-दीक्षा घर पर ही हुई जहाँ उन्हें संस्कृत, फ़ारसी, अँग्रेज़ी और बांग्ला भाषा और साहित्य की शिक्षा दी गई। हिंदी साहित्य में उनकी प्रतिष्ठा एक बहुमुखी प्रतिभासंपन्न कवि, संपादक, ललित-निबंधकार और उपन्यासकार के रूप में है। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने अपने यात्रा वृतांत, अनुवाद, आलोचना, संस्मरण, डायरी, विचार-गद्य एवं नाटक से भी हिंदी साहित्य को समृद्ध किया है।
अज्ञेय एक सफल कवि, उपन्यासकार, कहानीकार और आलोचक रहे हैं। छायावाद और रहस्यवाद के युग के बाद हिन्दी-कविता को नई दिशा देने में अज्ञेय जी का सबसे बड़ा हाथ है। हिन्दी के अनेक नए कवियों के लिए अज्ञेय जी प्रेरणा-स्रोत और मार्ग-दर्शक रहे हैं। उनकी रचनाओ का मूल स्वर दार्शनिक और चिन्तन-प्रधान है। आईये सुनते हैं उनकी रचना उन्ही की जुबानी–

मनोज कुमार (अंग्रेज़ी: Manoj Kumar, पूरा नाम: हरिकिशन गिरि गोस्वामी, जन्म: 24 जुलाई, 1937: मृत्यु: 4 अप्रैल 2025, मुंबई) फ़िल्म जगत् के प्रसिद्ध भारतीय अभिनेता, निर्माता व निर्देशक हैं। अपनी फ़िल्मों के जरिए मनोज कुमार ने लोगों को देशभक्ति की भावना का गहराई से एहसास कराया। मनोज कुमार ‘शहीद-ए-आजम’ भगत सिंह से बेहद प्रभावित हैं और इसी भावना ने उन्हें ‘शहीद’ जैसी कालजई फ़िल्म में देश के इस अमर सपूत के किरदार को जीवंत करने की प्रेरणा दी थी। 1992 में मनोज कुमार को भारत सरकार द्वारा ‘पद्मश्री’ से सम्मानित किया गया।
मनोज कुमार ने वो कौन थी, हिमालय की गोद में, गुमनाम, दो बदन, पत्थर के सनम, यादगार, शोर, संन्यासी, दस नम्बरी और क्लर्क जैसी अच्छी फ़िल्मों में काम किया। उनकी आखिरी फ़िल्म मैदान-ए-जंग (1995) थी। बतौर निर्देशक उन्होंने अपनी अंतिम फ़िल्म ‘जय हिंद’ 1999 में बनाई थी।

His most successful commercial films are Ankush, Pratighaat, Tezaab and Narsimha. Chandra also made moderately successful but critically scorned Humlaa, Style and its sequel Xcuse Me.
In 1988, he made Tezaab, the film that effectively launched Madhuri Dixit’s career. It was the beginning of the Bollywood diva’s long and relatively successful pairing with Anil Kapoor, and her mastery of dancing through the song Ek Do Teen. With Tezaab, N Chandra scored a box office hat-trick at his previous hits, Ankush (1986) and Pratighaat (1987).
