Govt is making efforts to position India as preferred global destination for medical value travel: Union Minister JP Nadda

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today said that the Government is making efforts to position India as a preferred global destination for medical value travel. Mr Nadda said this in a video message during the 8th Edition of Advantage Healthcare India in New Delhi. Mr Nadda said the government views medical travel as a channel of cooperation that builds confidence and strengthens people-to-people ties between nations. The Minister added that highly skilled medical professionals and modern healthcare infrastructure are offering advanced treatment across a wide range of specialities, including cardiology, oncology, organ transplantation, orthopaedics, and neurosciences. Mr Nadda said that medical value travel represents an important dimension of the country’s healthcare engagement with the world and reflects the nation’s clinical excellence, internationally benchmarked standards, transparent governance frameworks, and unwavering commitment to patient-centric care.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said that the country’s healthcare ecosystem has evolved into a dynamic and integrated system. Mr Jadhav noted that this includes advanced clinical capabilities, digital health innovation, strong pharmaceutical capacity, and a growing network of institutions committed to global engagement.
