The government has refuted a social media post claiming that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is promoting an investment instrument offering returns of 10 lakh rupees per month on an investment of 22 thousand rupees.

The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau has termed these claims fake.

It said that the Finance Minister or Central Government has not endorsed any such scheme. The government has urged citizens to always rely on official sources for information and verify them before sharing.
