Union Minister of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi today said that the government aims to connect the MSMEs of India with the global markets. Mr Manjhi said this while inaugurating the World Futures Forum in New Delhi. The Minister highlighted that at present, the world is attracted towards doing business with India. He lauded the forum for strengthening the MSME sector by providing ideas on the use of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence technology in the sector.
On the occasion, the Minister emphasised the need of Development of MSMEs in rural parts of the country, adding that the country can not get fully develop unless the Indian villages are developed. He also hailed the over 7.5 crore MSMEs of the country for providing employment to more than 33 crore people. He also lauded the Union Budget 2026-27 for giving a big importance to the MSME sector of the country.
World Futures Forum (WFF) is a biennial platform of the World Entrepreneurship Development Organisation, USA and hosted by the India SME Forum. The 2-day event being organised with the support of the Ministry of MSME aims to discuss roadmaps for shaping the future of industry, enterprise, and livelihoods across the Global South.
The forum is recognised as an Official Pre-Summit Event of the AI Impact Summit 2026 by the Ministry of Electronics and IT. WFF 2026 will bring together MSMEs, policymakers, industry leaders, multilateral institutions, and technology enablers to advance practical, future-ready solutions for competitiveness, innovation, and inclusive growth. It will also highlight AI-enabled industrial competitiveness, MSME readiness, quality and manufacturing standards, and cross-border digital trade, positioning the Global South as an active shaper of the global AI and industry agenda.
