The Government is making all efforts to ensure availability of Petrol, Diesel and LPG across the country. It has advised citizens to use digital modes for booking LPG cylinders and avoid visiting distributors unless necessary. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas infromed that Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)-based LPG deliveries have increased from 53 percent in February 2026 to 90 percent yesterday to prevent diversion at the distributor level.
The ministry said that yesterday, more than 90 thousand 5 Kg FTL cylinders have been sold. The 5 Kg FTL cylinders are available at nearby LPG Distributorships and can be purchased by showing any valid ID proof and without address proof. It stated that Since March 2026, about 3.6 Lakh PNG connections have been gasified. Further, more than 3.9 Lakh customers have been registered for new connections.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said all Indian seafarers are safe and no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels reported in the past 24 hours. It said, Port operations across the country remain normal. The Ministry said that Director General of Shipping has facilitated the safe repatriation of over 1479 Indian seafarers so far, including 159 in the last 24 hours from airports and various regional locations across the Gulf region.
The Ministry of External Affairs said it continues to closely monitor the evolving situation in the Gulf and West Asia region. It informed that a total of 345 Indian fishermen stranded in Iran returned home yesterday. The Ministry said, flight situation continues to improve and since 28th of February, around 7 lakh 2 thousand passengers have travelled from the region to India.
