Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, today said that the Government is shifting focus from merely OPD services to promotive and preventive healthcare. Addressing a departmental summit by the National Ayush Mission, Mr Jadhav said that the establishment of around 12 thousand 500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs has shifted the focus from OPD-based treatment to a holistic model of healthcare, emphasising prevention and promotion.
Talking about the upcoming Ayurveda Diwas on the 23rd of this month, the Minister said that this year’s theme – Ayurveda for People and Planet- stresses Ayurveda’s relevance in ensuring ecological balance, sustainability, and better individual health. He urged all states and Union Territories to actively participate and spread Ayurveda’s core message to the masses.
