The Government has said that no dry-outs have been reported at LPG distributorships and that it is ensuring 100 per cent supply of LPG cylinders to domestic households amid the West Asia crisis. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said that online LPG cylinder bookings increased to 99 per cent yesterday, while OTP-based deliveries have risen to more than 94 per cent.
As part of enforcement action to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG, more than 1,700 raids were conducted across the country yesterday. The Ministry said over 22.78 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders and more than two lakh metric tonnes of commercial LPG have been sold since April. It further informed that about 5.96 lakh PNG connections have been gasified, and infrastructure has been created for an additional 2.68 lakh connections since March of this year. Over 43,000 PNG consumers had surrendered their LPG connections till yesterday.
In the petrochemical sector, more than 10,000 metric tonnes of propylene and over 1,200 metric tonnes of butyl acrylate have been sold by refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Mathura and Gujarat to the chemical, pharma and paint industries since the 9th of last month. All retail fuel outlets are operating normally across the country.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, and no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels has been reported in the past 24 hours. It has facilitated the safe repatriation of 30 seafarers in the last 24 hours from various locations across the Gulf region.
