The Government has dismissed a digitally altered video of Western Command Chief Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar being circulated on social media, claiming that payments were made to the Afghan Taliban to act against Pakistan. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that no such statement was made by the officer. PIB has also urged people to beware of such AI-generated videos, which are shared with the intent to mislead the public and cause confusion and panic.
