The Government has disbursed over 4.09 lakh crore rupees, through 21 instalments, since the inception of the PM-KISAN scheme. In a written reply during the question hours in Lok Sabha, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that since it is an entitlement-based scheme, every eligible farmer’s family benefits. He added that there is no State-wise target for farmers’ enrollment and also no State-wise budget allocation under PM-KISAN.
The minister further added that under the Scheme, States/UTs are mandated to identify and verify the eligible beneficiaries and upload the error-free data of eligible farmers, including land records, linking of Aadhaar with their bank accounts and e-KYC for successful transfer of the benefits. He said that 1,32,60,543 farmers have been registered under the scheme, and out of that, 1,16,89,180 farmers received the benefit of the scheme.
The Minister informed that 13,41,632 farmers did not receive benefits because of various reasons, including non-fulfilment of mandatory verification requirements such as land seeding or linking of Aadhaar with the beneficiary’s bank account.
