Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express Flagged Off; UP Railway Budget Sees 18-Fold Growth

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada today flagged off Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express through video conference from New Delhi. The Gorakhpur-Pilibhit  Express Train has been extended upto Izzatnagar station for the convenience of rail passengers.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vaishnaw said that the train service inaugurated from Bareilly today will significantly improve connectivity from Bareilly to Pilibhit and further up to Gorakhpur. He said, the railway budget of Uttar Pradesh has increased nearly 18 times, reaching 18 thousand 458 crore for railway development.
 
Mr Vaishnaw said, eleven years ago, the railway budget for Uttar Pradesh was only one thousand 109 crore rupees. The Minister informed that redevelopment work on 157 railway stations is currently underway under the Amrit Bharat Station Program.
