In districts such as Kandhamal, Gajapati, and Sundargarh, the faithful are observing day-long fasts as a mark of reverence. In Kandhamal, including Phulbani, security has been tightened to ensure the peaceful conduct of religious activities. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi have extended greetings, calling for peace, harmony, and reflection on the values of sacrifice and compassion.
