Goa marked its 64th Liberation Day today with a state-level ceremony at the Goa University grounds, where Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant urged citizens to work towards making Goa a developed state by 2037, aligned with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

Dr. Sawant highlighted Goa’s progress in education, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, and economic growth, and appealed to citizens to preserve the state’s heritage, unity, and self-reliance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his message, said Goa Liberation Day recalls the courageous struggle against injustice and continues to inspire Goa’s all-round development. Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended greetings and paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices led to Goa’s integration with India.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolour, followed by a parade by police, fire services, home guards, and students.
