Global oil prices rise in early Asian trading amid Israel-Iran conflict

Global oil prices rose in early Asian trading today, following an escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran over the weekend. The heightened tensions have raised concerns about a broader regional conflict that could widely disrupt oil exports from the Middle East. Brent crude futures were up by 2.3 percent, to 75 dollars and 93 cent per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures gained 2.2 percent to 74 dollars and 60 cents per barrel. The gains came on top of a 7 percent rise on Friday.
