Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that achieving sustainable development goals has become challenging in the era when there are conflicts between various countries worldwide. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the sixth annual Asia Economic Dialogue in Pune today.

The program is jointly organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Pune International Centre. Mr. Goyal emphasised that without the availability of essential infrastructure like electricity, water, and roads, development remains an unattainable goal. He highlighted that over the past 11 years, the government has made significant progress in improving these fundamental facilities.

The three-day conference has brought together policymakers, academicians, and industry experts from Australia, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, fostering discussions on crucial economic and developmental challenges in Asia.
