In West Bengal, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh today emphasized on requirement of innovation and technological changes in the jute industry.
At an Indian Jute Industries Research Association’s function in Kolkata, the Minister stressed on the importance of Jute Industries in the Indian Economy. He said mixing jute fibre with other allied fibres has the possibility to incredibly increase exports in this field and to promote new-age fashion.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the development of natural fibres to fulfil the need for sustainable development by 2030. He also highlighted the need for research in the field of bamboo and sesame.
