The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) organised a one-day GeM Excellence Event in Ranchi to promote transparent and digital public procurement in Jharkhand. The event aimed to familiarise government buyers and state-based sellers with GeM’s new features, processes and reforms to strengthen public purchasing through the platform.
GeM CEO Mihir Kumar said that category-based procurement on GeM has made public buying more streamlined, faster and effective, while providing equal opportunities to MSMEs, startups and local entrepreneurs. He highlighted that Jharkhand has completed over one lakh 50 thousand orders worth around 7 thousand 900 crore rupees through GeM and has remained among the top 10 states in order value over the last three years.
