GARC submitted sixth recommendation report to CM Bhupendra Patel

Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission (GARC), under the chairmanship of Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, has submitted its sixth recommendation report to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The GARC’s sixth report lays down an extensive plan to overhaul government recruitment, making it faster, more transparent, and youth-centric. We have a report from our correspondent:

A key suggestion is setting a fixed time limit to complete all recruitment processes, ranging from 6 to 12 months. To streamline applications, the commission has proposed a Joint Recruitment system featuring a Common Entrance Test (CET) for similar cadres, alongside establishing two fixed requisition windows every year. The report strongly pushes for technology integration, recommending fully digital document verification and the creation of an End-to-End Dashboard for candidates to track their application status.

To improve efficiency, it suggests the widespread use of Computer-Based Examinations and proposes enhancing the capacity of recruitment agencies by forming a new Medical Services Recruitment Board (MSRB). Finally, GARC has recommended creating a 10-year recruitment calendar based on future needs to ensure vacancies are filled quickly and transparently.
