The Gandhi Shilp Bazar has become a major attraction at the Maha Kumbh, with artisans from across the country exhibiting their traditional arts and crafts. The Ministry of Textiles has organised this Ship Bazar, and more than one hundred stalls have been set up at the Mela area in Prayagraj.
The Gandhi Shilp Bazar showcases an extensive range of handicraft items, including garments and wooden utensils. Talking to Akashvani News, Assistant Director of Handicrafts, Prayagraj Tanya Banerjee said artisans from across the states are showcasing their unique crafts in the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar. An artist from Chennai, Geeta Gopi, said she is showcasing a Tanjore painting made of gold foil.
Kiran Jangir from Mumbai told Akashvani that she is making live sculptures of people in the bazaar. The Shilp Bazar serves as a vibrant platform for artisans from across the country to showcase their extraordinary skills and also an opportunity to expand their businesses.
