Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy today said coal is vital for India’s industrial development. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Green Steel Project and coal gasification initiatives at Bhadravati in Chandrapur, aimed at boosting regional employment and supporting environmentally friendly industry. 

Speaking on the occasion, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the projects will strengthen the national economy while addressing climate change challenges. He noted seven coal gasification projects are planned in the state, including four in Vidarbha, and that a Steel Hub is being developed across Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Bhandara, and Gondia districts.
