In Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of the 79th Independence Day Celebrations, full dress rehearsals were conducted across Jammu and Kashmir today with patriotic enthusiasm. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that at major venues including Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, the rehearsals mirrored the official Independence Day functions.

 

 

Contingents from police, paramilitary forces, NCC cadets, and school students participated in the parade. Cultural performances reflecting the region’s diversity were also showcased. Senior officials oversaw the arrangements to ensure smooth conduct on August 15.

 

 

However, as part of the ongoing Independence Day Celebrations, a wave of patriotic events swept across J&K. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh led a spirited Tiranga Yatra in Kathua. Dr. Singh paid tribute to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
