French Authorities Charge Two in $102 Million Louvre Jewel Theft Case

A man and a woman have been formally charged in connection with the 102 million dollar Louvre Museum jewel heist, bringing the total number of suspects to four.

The 37-year-old man faces charges of organised theft and conspiracy, while the 38-year-old woman is accused of complicity in the same crimes. Both deny involvement and remain in custody.

Two earlier suspects, a 34-year-old Algerian and a 39-year-old Frenchman, had partially admitted their roles. Three others arrested were released without charge.

The high-profile heist, carried out by hooded thieves using a mover’s lift and power tools, exposed major security lapses at the world’s most-visited museum. The stolen jewels remain missing as investigations continue.
