Four Bangladeshi brothers found dead inside parked car in Oman

Four Bangladeshi brothers from Chattogram have been found dead inside a parked car in Oman’s Muladda area, triggering shock and grief among the expatriate community and their hometown in Bangladesh.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Rashed, Mohammad Sahed, Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shahid, sons of Abdul Majid from Rangunia upazila in Chattogram district.

According to community representatives in Oman, the brothers had travelled to the Barka area before heading towards Muladda. One of them reportedly sent a WhatsApp voice message to a relative after 8 PM, saying they were feeling seriously ill and unable to get out of the vehicle. He also shared their location.

Their bodies were discovered around 2 AM local time inside a car parked near a clinic after two Bangladeshi expatriates informed the police.

Preliminary investigations by Omani authorities suggest the vehicle’s engine may have been running for a long period, leading to possible toxic gas leakage. However, officials said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy and medical reports.

The bodies are currently being kept at a local mortuary under police custody.
