Former Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss Expelled From PMK Over Anti-Party Activities

Tamil Nadu’s Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) split today after founder S. Ramadoss announced at a press conference that he had expelled his son, party president Anbumani Ramadoss, accusing him of ignoring senior leaders and engaging in anti-party activities.

Ramadoss, 85, declared himself party head and told cadres to cut ties with his son. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Thailapuram, Villupuram district, he said Anbumani was expelled from both primary membership and the executive leadership after failing to respond to two show-cause notices.

Anbumani, a former Union minister, insisted he remains PMK president under party rules and is recognised by the Election Commission. The rift follows months of tension, including Ramadoss dissolving the PMK’s executive committee earlier this year.
