Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today introduced the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025, in the Lok Sabha. The Bill amends the Insurance Act 1938, the Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956 and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999. As the Bill was introduced in the House, opposition parties, including DMK and TMC, opposed the introduction of the Bill.
