FM Nirmala Sitharaman says around Rs 312 crore have been sanctioned to Keralam under NDMF

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that a total of around 312 crore rupees have been sanctioned to Keralam under the National Disaster Mitigation Fund, but the state government has not utilised this fund.

Replying to supplementary questions during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, Mrs Sitharaman said that the next tranche of funds would only be released when the concerned State government submitted the Utilisation Certificate.

She said, despite the allocation, the Keralam Government has not even drawn the approved amount.

She said that out of the total sanctioned amount, 72 crore rupees are for risk mitigation projects in the landslide-affected areas of Wayanad, and over 222 crore rupees are for the urban flood risk management programme for Thiruvananthapuram.
