Flood like situation in parts of Rajasthan after heavy rain

Flood like situation prevailed at some places in Rajasthan due to extremely heavy rains. Kota division is worst affected.

 

Met Department has issued red alert for extremely heavy rains in Kota and Bundi districts today.

 

Apart from this, an orange alert has been issued for Nagaur, Tonk, Pali, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Baran and Jhalawar districts and a yellow alert for the remaining districts.

 

Akashvani correspondent reports, Kota, Bundi, Tonk. Sawai Madhopur and Baran districts are most affected due to heavy rain. Several places are submerged.

 

Contact of many villages to district headquarters has been cut off. Heavy rains have caused havoc and extensive damage in both rural and urban areas.  

 

Rail traffic has been affected due to water logging at sawai madhopur station. Traffic is also closed on the Delhi Mumbai Expressway in Kota. Power and water supply is disrupted in many areas.

 

Army along with NDRF and SDRF are deployed for relief and rescue work in the affected areas.  Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has reviewed the relief and rescue operations.

 

He has instructed to conduct a special survey of the damage to crops due to heavy rains.
