Indian Army, Indian Air Force, BSF, and NDRF, along with Punjab Police and local volunteers, are working tirelessly to evacuate stranded people to safer places. Railways have cancelled 65 trains, while 25 trains were terminated due to the prevailing situation. Helpdesks have been set up at Pathankot, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
Reservoirs of Ranjit Sagar, Pong and Bhakra Dams are full to the brim. Water is being released in a controlled manner from these dams. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Man visited the affected areas in Gurdaspur.
